Our story
Feeding Our Community Since 2016
What started with a desire to help people facing food insecurity has grown into 10 years of showing up for families throughout Western New York.
How it started
It Started With a Need.
Feeding In The Midst was founded in 2016 by Brooke Jackson with a simple purpose: to make sure people in her community had somewhere to turn when they needed food and support.
What began as a commitment to fighting hunger grew year after year as FITM continued identifying needs and finding ways to meet them—from food and clothing distributions to Thanksgiving givebacks, school supplies, youth initiatives and community partnerships.
The mission has remained simple: meet people where they are, serve with dignity, and keep showing up.

Founder’s message
Still Showing Up.
Ten years ago, I didn't know exactly what Feeding In The Midst would become. I just knew there were people who needed help and that we could do something about it.
We've grown, struggled, learned, celebrated and continued showing up. Every volunteer, donor, partner and family we've served has become part of this story.
Ten years later, I'm proud of what we've accomplished—but I know there's still more work to do.
